'Spawn' Creator Todd McFarlane Talks Upcoming Reboot
Back in July, we showcased Todd McFarlane's rise from being the guy to bring Spider-Man into the '90s for Marvel to being president of the third-largest (and arguably dopest) comic book house in the world, Image Comics. Around the time we gave you his blueprint, he was at San Diego Comic-Con, announcing that he would be bringing Spawn back into theaters via Blumhouse (who have made magic with films like Get Out, The Purge series, and Split).
McFarlane has been teasing the idea of the film (which he planned on writing and directing) for years, but now it's a reality. During this past New York Comic-Con, we got McFarlane in-studio to break down why he chose to bring his new vision for Spawn to Jason Blumhouse as opposed to cashing in a huge Hollywood check, what 25 years of Image Comics means, and gives fans a glimpse of what we can expect from his film director debut.
