Hollywood’s Biggest Movies Flop as Industry Implodes from Sexual Misconduct Scandals
As sexual misconduct scandals continue to rock Hollywood, the industry’s latest work is flopping at the box office.
What’s going on?
Executives are taking their licks and reducing the number of theaters that some of the fall’s biggest movies are being shown in. Blockbuster films like “Blade Runner 2049” and “American Made” were expected to be major hits, but both have flopped.
According to Box Office Mojo, “Blade Runner 2049” will have made only about $74 million through three weekends. It had a production budget of $150 million. “American Made,” on the other hand, has made only $45 million since its release. It is one of the poorest performing movies of Tom Cruise’s career.
Other flops include “Flatliners,” “Battle of the Sexes,” “Geostorm,” and even the “LEGO Ninjago Movie.”
Why the flops?
In addition to the fact that many of the movies just aren’t that great — as seen by reviews — Hollywood has two massive problems facing them: their elite progressivism is often out-of-touch with the vast majority of Americans and the sexual misconduct scandals.
