Montreal Canadiens Goalie Carey Price Down with Lower Body Injury

Canadiens goaltender Carey Price missed practice here Friday because of what Claude Julien described as a “minor” lower-body injury.

“I came in this morning and (the training staff) told me he had a minor injury,” said Julien. He said he didn’t know when Price was injured or whether it was related to his shaky performance Thursday night when the Canadiens dropped a 6-3 decision in Minnesota.

Julien said Al Montoya would start Saturday against the Winnipeg Jets (7 p.m., Sportsnet, TVA Sports, TSN-690 Radio) and that the Canadiens will be recalling a goaltender from the Laval Rocket — most likely Charlie Lindgren — as a precaution.

The other news from the practice Friday was a line shuffle which saw Alex Galchenyuk join Jonathan Drouin and Artturi Lehkonen on one of the top two lines.
