RCMP Arrest 12 in Joint Drug Trafficking Investigation in Waterloo Region

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police Kitchener Detachment along with Waterloo Regional Police have arrested 12 people in connection to an ongoing drug trafficking investigation called Project OWING.

As a result, 34 kilograms of cocaine were seized. RCMP say the cocaine is worth roughly $1.7M and was brought into Canada from the U.S.

Police say the drug trafficking operation was very well organized.

RCMP Superintendent Jamie Jagoe says 12 people were arrested, including nine people from Waterloo Region. The three others were from the Toronto and Windsor area.
