Police Searching for 31-Year-Old Man Linked to Multiple Sexual Assaults
Police are on the hunt for a 31-year-old Toronto man, following at least two sexual assaults that took place in and around downtown over the past few days.
Investigators allege that just after 1 p.m. Friday, the suspect was on a bike in the Dufferin and Queen area when he approached a 26-year-old woman.
The woman was assaulted and the suspect tried to run away. He was then wrestled to the ground by witnesses, but still managed to escape.
In a second incident just after 5 p.m. on Saturday, police say a 32-year-old woman was walking in the Bay and St. Mary Street area when she was approached from behind.
The suspect grabbed her around her upper body and assaulted her, before fleeing northbound on Bay.
And although they haven't been able to confirm it 100 per cent, investigators believe the same man is linked to a third sexual assault just minutes later, near Bay and Charles.
Police say Markus Stansbury is wanted on two counts of sexual assault. He's described as white, 6'0", with a thin build and strawberry-blonde or red hair. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie, black track pants and black sunglasses.
Investigators say he's violent and dangerous, and should not be approached.
However, they're looking for the men who tried to capture him in the third alleged incident, as well as any witnesses to that particular assault.
A photo of the suspect was not immediately provided.
Police say this is an ongoing investigation and anyone with information is asked to call 416-808-1400 or Crime Stoppers.
