Toronto Van Attacker Alek Minassian's Police Statement will be Made Public

A judge has ruled the police statement made by 2018 Yonge St. van attack suspect Alek Minassian will be made public next month.

The document had been sealed under a publication ban, but lawyers representing the media argued for it to be lifted.

Media will be able to report on the content on September 27th.

Minassian is currently charged with 10 counts of murder and 16 counts of attempted murder, in connection to the April 23, 2018 rampage, when a white van mounted the sidewalks of NorthYork.

A trial by judge alone is scheduled to begin in February 2020.
